This Is The Netflix Movie You Should Watch According To Your Sign

It's been a long day and you're finally cozied up in bed, ready to put on some Netflix. But you're not quite sure what to watch, so you start browsing. Next thing you know, it's 1AM and you're knee-deep in some incredibly obscure "category" like "sentimental coming-of-age cult classics with strong female leads." Stop right there! I can help!

You tell me your zodiac sign, and I'll tell you what to watch tonight. Deal? Deal.

1 / 12

Aries: "It Follows"

Aries are a fire sign; they typically thrive on high-energy, high-stakes scenarios, even if it's from the viewpoint of their own cozy bed. "It Follows" (2014), a thriller, is the ideal film to keep an Aries on the edge of their seat. It centers on a teenage girl who's been cursed by a mysterious and deadly entity that's passed on via intercourse. It is seriously creepy, yet artfully and tastefully done.

2 / 12

Taurus: "Carol"

Taureans are incredibly soft romantics — you just have to dig 20 layers deep to find it. They also love beauty and sensuality. "Carol" (2015) fits the bill perfectly. It tells the subtly intense story of a lesbian romance in the 1950s that will make your heart melt, and it's visually stunning in a way that will delight a Taurus' senses — lots of fur coats, lipstick, snow and other lovely things. It's also slow-moving, like every Taurus on earth.

3 / 12

Gemini: "Homecoming King"

Geminis have a bit of reputation for talking constantly, and they love to talk ideas and have their minds stimulated, which makes a social-justice-oriented comedy special the perfect Netflix choice. "Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King" (2017) is innovative, touching and hilarious. It was the first comedy special to include serious monologues and PowerPoint slides along with the usual punchlines; there's a lot here for a Gemini to chew over. (And if you accidentally talk through some of it, it's okay.)

4 / 12

Cancer: "Pariah"

Cancerians are extremely home-oriented. This sign rules family, roots, domesticity, and maternal love. "Pariah" (2011) deals with all of those themes from the vantage point of a 17-year-old girl who is coming to terms with her sexuality. Her struggles to balance her identity with her family's expectations will pull at a sensitive Cancer's heartstrings.

5 / 12

Leo: "Man on Wire"

"Man on Wire" (2008) is the story of Philippe Petit, a French tightrope walker who illegally rigged a wire between the two Twin Towers in 1974 and danced on it for an hour for a crowd of amazed and dismayed onlookers. Are you even a little bit surprised that he's a Leo? I'm not. Fellow Leos will feel spurred to action by Petit's unapologetically larger-than-life vision.

6 / 12

Virgo: "Iris"

Virgos are known for being really into order and cleanliness, but did you know that the average Virgo's home is actually totally cluttered?! There's something to be said about seeking a higher sense of order — a certain thematic and aesthetic consistency. Iris Apfel, the subject of "Iris" (2015), is the perfect example. A Virgo herself (with the cluttered home to match), she became famous for her eye-catching sense of style, which she still maintains at the ripe old age of 96. The amount of detail with which she recounts each one of her prized object's history will totally soothe a Virgo's soul.

7 / 12

Libra: "Frances Ha"

Libras are a naturally social, charismatic people, but underneath the graceful persona, sh*t gets real — Libras can find intimacy to be awkward, messy, scary, and annoying. Thus I present to you "Frances Ha" (2013), the story of how close friendships and adulthood in general can be super hard and cringe-worthy, and yes it's sometimes IMPOSSIBLE to make decisions, but it's all going to be just fine anyway.

8 / 12

Scorpio: "Blue is the Warmest Color"

"Blue is the Warmest Color" (2013) is a French coming-of-age LGBT story that features the longest sex scenes I have EVER seen in a movie, but that is not why I am recommending it for Scorpios; that would be way too on-the-nose. Instead, I'm recommending it because it's about transformation and desire, two things with which Scorpios are heavily familiar. It's about that deep, dark, intense undercurrent that underlies all of our decisions in life and that cannot, for a Scorpio, be silenced.

9 / 12

Sagittarius: "Tracks"

"I just want to be by myself," says Robyn Davidson (played by Mia Wasikowska) in the trailer of "Tracks" (2014). Has not every Sagittarius said those exact words, out loud or in their head, at least once a day since birth? This movie is about independence, risk-taking, adventure, and all of the accompanying beauty. It tells the true story of the real-life Robyn Davidson, who traveled 1,700 miles of Australian outback by herself in 1977. (Cue the sound of every Sagg zipping up their packs to attempt to reenact this journey.)

10 / 12

Capricorn: "Jiro Dreams of Sushi"

"Jiro Dreams of Sushi" (2012) is about an 85-year-old sushi chef, Jiro Ono, who runs a small sushi restaurant underneath a subway station in Tokyo — but is widely considered the best sushi chef in the world. This movie consistently makes it onto lists of the best documentaries on Netflix, and that's because it leaves you feeling soft, full of light, and energized. Capricorns are not usually associated with softness, but instead with hard work and determination. But the thing is that if you peel back all that ambition, softness is what you get. That's the reason, after all, that Capricorns work so hard — to get to the magic that only consistency can provide. This movie shows that exact journey.
