When you go into virtually any fast food joint in the U.S., you more or less know what to expect: a greasy beef burger, a too-small carton of fries, and a too-large soda.

But that changes dramatically the minute you land on foreign soil: Because brands are trying to cater to the specific tastes and flavors of a region, sometimes they add some pretty interesting offerings to their menus. Here's some delicacies you won't be about to find in the U.S.!

McDonald's Ebi Burger

This one's a shrimp burger that started in Japan and has since spread to a few other Asian locations.

2 / 12

Burger King's Chili Cheese Nuggets

They basically look like jalapeño poppers? Apparently these lil' guys can be ordered in the Czech Republic.

3 / 12

Burger King's SufganiKing

This was a limited-run item to celebrate Hanukah in Israel. The bun is actually a donut, complemented (of course) with a small dollop of ketchup on top.

4 / 12

Taco Bell's Cheetos Quesadilla

Unfortunately, this one was only ever released in the Philippines. WTF.

5 / 12

Burger King's Kuro Burger

These were released in Japan some time ago as a Halloween promotion, complete with black buns and black cheese colored with bamboo charcoal and black sauce made with squid ink.

6 / 12

McDonald's Tofu McNuggets

These came out in Japan a few years ago amidst disease scares from regional chickens and were a hit with vegetarians!

7 / 12

McDonald's Pumpkin Spice French Fries

Basic white girls, rejoice! (But only if you're in Japan, where these are actually available during the fall months.)

8 / 12

Domino's Bacon Groovy Pizza

First off, round of applause for the name alone.

You can get BBQ chicken pizza's fancy cousin classed up with a little creme fraiche in France. Oui oui.

9 / 12

KFC's Tom Yum Crunch Chicken

This limited-edition recipe featuring hot, spicy/sour breading was available in Malaysia a few years ago.

10 / 12

Dairy Queen's Green Tea Blizzard

These are huge is Southeast Asia.

TOM BOMBADIL

I had a rough childhood. I watched my parents murdered right before my eyes. Shot point-blank by some two-bit thug.

So I ran away from Gotham and wandered the earth, until eventually Liam Neeson found me in an obscure Asian jail. He gave me a home, taught me to fight, and showed me the true meaning of justice meant wearing black rubber latex and speaking really deeply.

Then I killed him with a flying commuter train.
