You could spend hours (and a lot of money) at the spa getting a hydrating facial. Or, you could make one yourself using ingredients you already have. I know some of you might be shaking your head saying, "No thanks, I'd rather go to the spa" and I completely understand. Face masks can be tricky to make sometimes. Sure, the recipes say they're easy and minimal but when you try to do it yourself, shit hits the fans. And even if you successfully create the concoction, the face mask doesn't do anything for your skin. This has happened to me more times than I can count and that's why I take DIY face mask recipes so seriously. Here are five masks that aren't just easy to make, they work...and they taste pretty damn good too.

Avocado & Honey Face Mask

All you need for this mask is avocado and honey. That's it! Mash an avocado in a bowl and pour 1/4 cup of honey into the mixture. Stir and apply to your clean skin for about 10 minutes. Avocado and honey both have a lot of nutrients and this mask is perfect for hydrating your dry skin. Plus, avocado and honey are pretty dang delicious.

Oatmeal & Yogurt Face Mask

The texture of oatmeal is what makes it such a great way to exfoliate! However, you need to add something to this mask, besides oatmeal, for it to work as a moisturizer. Yogurt is a great option. Boil some oats, maybe 1/2 cup and then pour them into a bowl. Mix about two tablespoons of yogurt into the bowl, add two tablespoons of honey (honey is great for the skin), and one egg to give the paste a nice texture. Apply a nice layer to your clean skin and let it sit for about 15 minutes.

Plain Yogurt Face Mask

Plain yogurt is a super easy face mask because all you have to do is apply a thin layer of plain yogurt onto your skin. Boom! A yogurt face mask will help tighten your pores and clean your skin. Make sure you keep the mask on for about 20 minutes though so the yogurt has enough time to make a difference!

Chocolate? Oh, yeah! This mask is perfect for your skin when it's looking a little tired. Chocolate has so many antioxidants that will give your skin everything it needs to look amazing! And if you're feeling adventurous you could add some coffee to your chocolate face mask paste, if you want to add a little energy boost to your day.
