If there's one thing we know about Selena Gomez, it's that she's always a class act. Case and point: she spent her Saturday night surprising young cancer patients and survivors at the annual Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) prom.
CHOC hosted its 17th annual Oncology Prom, themed "Around the World in One Night," for teens aged 14 to 19 who are either cancer survivors or currently undergoing treatment. The prom aims to honor the strength of these young superheroes and allow them to celebrate with their friends and family.
"Though attending a traditional prom is not always possible for teens battling long-time, life-threatening illnesses, CHOC ensures patients don't miss a chance to dance, celebrate their journeys and feel beautiful," a CHOC spokesperson told Today.
Gomez took to the massive, makeshift dance floor, lit up with strings of sparkling lights, to surprise and celebrate these awesome kids. She even stuck around for selfies, obviously.
She's not the only star who made an appearance, either. The hilarious Jack Black provided some tunes and Grey's Anatomy's Sarah Drew, Kevin McKidd, James Pickens Jr., and Caterina Scorsone stopped by as well.
The children's hospital pulled out all the stops for the event, giving teens the star treatment. The ladies received glam services and the guys got Ryan Seacrest Distinction bow ties and Dr. Harold Lancer's Polished for Men skincare starter kits thanks to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.
It was truly a star-studded prom & definitely better than mine ever was.
