The internet is in full-blown meltdown mode over Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson's alleged engagement — partly because they only started dating, like, yesterday.
Ok, so it's actually been a few weeks, but the couple is firing on all cylinders. They made things Instagram official at the end of May, but seemingly started dating a week or so before that, following their high-profile breakups. Then, after some incredibly extra flirting via Instagram for a few weeks, news broke of their engagement on June 11. They celebrated at Disneyland.
The two are in deep, it seems, and so is Pete Davidson's bank account. Apparently that giant rock on Ariana Grande's left ring finger was custom-made for nearly $100,000 — $93,000 if you want to get technical. The rumored engagement ring, a VVS1 clarity diamond set in platinum, was commissioned by Manhattan-based jeweler Greg Yuna. He seemingly confirmed it via Instagram.
It's a tear-shaped diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, and looks massive on Grande's finger. It clocks in at more than 3-carats, which in layman's terms simply means blindingly bright.
What's odd is that she appears to have been wearing it since her iHeartRadio Wango Tango performance on June 2. So, now we're all kinds of confused. Did they get engaged merely DAYS after announcing they were dating, or what?
Davidson hung out behind the scenes at the concert and raved about how "lit" her set was on Instagram. And this was only THREE days after they made their relationship Insta-official. Consider us shook.
According to Us Weekly, Grande and Davidson "were telling people they're engaged" at Robert Pattinson's birthday celebration in Los Angeles on June 9. But they are "not rushing to get married," according to sources. Although, after this whirlwind courtship, we find that hard to believe. They're probably already married.
