Let's talk about sex, baby! In the newest episode of Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook show Red Table Talk, which she hosts alongside her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones and her 17-year-old daughter Willow, they get down to the nitty gritty when it comes to intimacy.
After her mother, Adrienne, talks about her first sexual experiences being painful and negative, Jada opens up about how her first sexual encounter was "like a revelation." She reveals that, thanks to her grandmother, she learned about sex in a different way and it helped her in her early experiences.
"My grandmother taught me about self-pleasuring because she wanted me to know that that pleasure was from me," Jada says. "She didn’t want me to fall into the hands of a man, and if he gave me pleasure, to think that that was him. And she taught me at 9!"
Later on, she admits she even developed a sort of addiction to self-pleasure.
"I think by your age, I gave myself multiples first," Jada tells Willow’s 21-year-old friend Telana Lynum during the episode. "Multiple orgasms. I was really into it at one point. Just because I was in an exploration state and I was abstaining from men. And I actually think I went through kind of an addiction, too, with it. And then one day, I was like, 'Enough. You’re having five orgasms a day.'" Ummmm ok, Jada. Get it, girl.
The women dive into sex topics until no stone is left unturned. It's refreshing and honest and exactly the kind of discussion we need to hear today. They talk about when they became comfortable with their sexualities, the issue with how society sees sex, how technology is ruining sexual experiences, and even how they were introduced to sex.
Willow admits her introduction to sex came from walking in on her parents, Jada and Will, much to Jada's surprise.
"It was in Utah … not Utah. Aspen," Willow recalled. "I was going downstairs to get some juice and I saw for a little moment and I ran away. I was like, 'Oh my God, this is so crazy. What did I just see?'"
In her maturity, she says she didn't freak out, but that she felt she had simply "overstepped a boundary." Bless this family.
