One week after being placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold for a suicide threat, Heather Locklear has been arrested for two counts of misdemeanor battery. The Melrose Place star allegedly punched a cop in the face and kicked an EMT while being placed on a gurney.
The original 911 call, made by a family member, was for a disturbance around 6 p.m. However, when deputies arrived at Locklear's residence, they determined no crime had occurred. Hours later, another 911 call was made. Apparently the 56-year-old actress was heavily intoxicated and extremely agitated, according to TMZ. Police arrived around 11:30 p.m. and an agitated Locklear punched one of the deputies for trying to separate her from her family.
Due to her "behavior and level of intoxication," an ambulance was called. She reportedly kicked an EMT while being placed on a gurney, resulting in her second count of battery. She was taken to the hospital, then ultimately placed in jail, around 2:00 a.m. She is being held at the Ventura County Jail on $20,000 bail.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office told Fox News Locklear was intoxicated and "arguing with other subjects at the residence."
"The responding deputy believed it was necessary to separate her from the others. In the process of trying to separate her, she battered the deputy...There was no injury to the deputy. That action caused her to get arrested," they continued.
A week prior to the arrest, Locklear was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold for allegedly choking her mom, attacking her dad, and threatening to commit suicide. Just a few months before, she was arrested on charges of domestic violence and misdemeanor battery on a police officer after a dispute with her boyfriend, which caused her to seek treatment.
She is set to appear in court on Tuesday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m.
